Soul
Search
Crawl did I
through the bowels of the earth
searching through graves,
long since interred. Bones,
flesh decayed and worms
that moved toward me
eager to welcome me home.
The Light
As I look into the light,
Bright, bright, so very bright.
My mind is filled with life's residue,
so very, very few.
Memories of days come and gone,
Way too fast, too forlorn,
A mangled finger becons me,
Taking me away to eternity.
Was what I did right or wrong,
I guess I'll know before too long.
Because she told me she was twenty-one, I mean,
How was I to know she was really thirteen.
